Nix Zürich

About

The Nix Zürich group is a community centred around Nix and NixOS, the functional package management ecosystem. We organise meetups and events in the Zürich area and are involved with other functional programming clubs such as the Zürich Friends of Haskell.

Every 6 months we organise a two-day hackathon-style event in Rapperswil called ZHF where we provide a hacking space, food, coffee, and mentorship. We also occasionally organise smaller-scale meetups.

Next ZHF event

It's time for a new NixOS release, 24.11 Vicuña! 🎉 For a month before release, NixOS is in ZERO Hydra Failures stage. During this time, the community tries to fix all of the Hydra build failures in Nixpkgs. You can read more about the process here.

Please sign up for the event in our Meetup group. That way, we can optimise our planning around swag, food, and coffee.

Location

Our hackathons take place as a physical events at the beautiful Rapperswil-Jona campus of OST located right next to lake Zürich. We hope to see you there!

Agenda

Nothing in our schedule is binding. You can stay as long as you like and attend whichever activites interest you. Our group photos and culinary specialties have become a tradition though, and we'd be happy to see you there!
